With extensive experience across areas including medical device manufacturing, elastomers, silicone manufacturing and advanced manufacturing, Romar Engineering has niche capability sought after by industries including aerospace, mining and defence.
We also collaborate with like-minded Australian innovators – including manufacturers and prime industry bodies such as ANSTO, Australia’s Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation.
After a recent meeting with the team at ANSTO, we’re pleased to announce that Romar is now an ANSTO industry partner.
This gives us an opportunity to access ANSTO’s cutting-edge technology and facilities… and ensure we continue to provide leading advanced manufacturing solutions for our clients.
Romar Founder, Neil Wilson and CEO Alan Lipman, visited ANSTO team to discuss potential project collaboration.
ANSTO is one of Australia’s largest public research organisations. It partners with scientists and engineers from both academia and industry to apply new technologies and develop beneficial projects for health, the environment and several industries.
ANSTO’s immense research infrastructure includes OPAL, one of the world’s premier nuclear research reactors; the Australian Synchrotron; the National Imaging Facility Research Cyclotron; and the Centre for Accelerator Science.
Industry innovators such as Romar gain access to state-of-the-art instruments and facilities.
The intention of the recent visit was to look at ways that Romar and ANSTO can put our expertise together to explore new avenues for our advanced manufacturing and materials capability.
“We talked capability,” explains Alan, “both our capabilities and theirs, and how we can collaborate using the experience and facilities that we both have.”
Romar is exploring utilising ANSTO’s HIP (Hot Isostatic Press) equipment to investigate new material and molding potential.
It promises to be the first of several projects between Romar and ANSTO.
Romar’s partnership with ANSTO is the latest in a line of exciting industry collaborations. Among them are our partnerships with leading aerospace companies, Jet Engines Australia and Gilmour Space Technologies.
We’re also working on cutting-edge medical device manufacturing for Inventia Life Science and Nutromics.
Romar began manufacturing more than 50 years ago, and thanks to a commitment to move forward with research and technology, we’re still providing exceptional manufacturing solutions across diverse industries.
