In July this year, executive team members took the time to head overseas and meet with existing customers.
The trip also provided excellent international manufacturing opportunities with new potential clients working on several innovative products.
Due to global travel restrictions, this trip was the first in almost three years. Like many companies working with international customers and suppliers, Romar has needed to adapt to the global climate.
Digital communication has enabled the cogs of business to continue working; however, meeting with customers existing and new and touching base face-to-face with suppliers does rubber stamp relationships that have been nurtured over many years.
The trip spanned four countries: the USA, Canada, the UK and Finland. We gained valuable insights into how our customers have advanced during the global pandemic. Fair to say, they all have been very active in their respective industries. It was extremely encouraging to see first-hand the level of innovation and hear news about exciting product developments worldwide. The optimism was infectious, with new facilities now operational, new technologies bridging the gap between ideas and product development, and the buoyancy in global manufacturing is evident.
There is a strong leaning toward the value of doing business with Australia. Despite the obvious challenges in distance, Australian manufacturing is front and centre of international product designers and innovators.
Romar’s reputation was further enhanced by making the effort to visit with customers to get a foot-on-the-ground understanding of their forward projections, product needs, where Romar’s manufacturing expertise fits into the manufacturing cycle and what is needed as we work closely with these companies on making the ideas a reality.
Our trip coincided with the prestigious International Air Show at Farnborough in the UK.
Romar’s aeronautic and astronautics manufacturing expertise is advancing quickly, and events like these showcase the innovations, developments and speed at which the aerospace industry is moving. This is an exciting frontier in manufacturing.
Romar’s work with leading space exploration companies and our investment in our people and technology enable Romar to position itself as the manufacturer of choice in these emerging markets. We had the opportunity to connect significantly with high-level influencers and decisions makers while at the air show.
Their enthusiasm for the future of the aerospace market was very encouraging and reinforced Romar’s strategic direction for the coming years.
Romar continues to build on its expertise, capability and reputation in international markets. We use the learning and leverage from the skills of our international peers and customers to enhance Australia’s manufacturing sector and assist Australian companies in fulfilling their potential through our manufacturing processes and understanding domestic and international markets and trends.
